WWII German Knights Cross Recipients Heinz Ewald, Franz Reuss & Johannes Wiese Signed Auto Photos. These photos do not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). These signed photo are copies of the actual period photo. The signature is original. The approximate size is 8 x 10 inches and 8.5 x 11 inches. Good overall condition. Heinz "Esau" Ewald (September 1, 1922 – March 14, 2002) was a German Luftwaffe fighter ace during World War II. He is highly regarded for his role on the Eastern Front, particularly as a disciplined wingman. General Major Franz Reuss was a German Luftwaffe bomber pilot and highly decorated commander who served throughout World War II. Born on April 17, 1904, in Augsburg, he began his military service in 1935. He transitioned to the newly formed Luftwaffe in August 1938 to undergo pilot and flight training. Johannes "Hannes" Wiese (March 7, 1915 – August 16, 1991) was a highly decorated German fighter pilot and military officer who served as a fighter ace in the Luftwaffe during World War II, and later as an officer in the West German Bundeswehr.
