Description
WWII Medal and Document group to Pfc. Edward G. Rowland of McCall, Idaho, a member of Co. A, 1st Battalion, 305th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division during WWII in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The group includes his unengraved field issued Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, campaign medals and ribbon bars, sterling Combat Infantry Badge, dog tag, collar discs, patch. Original documents include the original Western Union Telegram notifying his wife that Pfc. Rowland was seriously wounded in action at Ie Shima on 21 April 1945, four cards from the 5th Convalescent Hospital detailing his improvement from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder and fracture of his right shoulder blade, American Legion Silver Star Wound Citation, Soldiers pay book, M-1 Rifle score book, postcards, a pocket notebook with wartime notes and fellow Soldier addresses, scenery photos of Japan, photo of him in his uniform shirt, a souvenir of Infantry Training calendar with photos and notations inside, a Fighting 77th poem, and some copied research.
