Description
1930s to WWII US Navy group of Chief Water Tender James M Gibbons who served on the USS Arizona and USS Saratoga prior to WWII during the 1930s and then was on the USS Honolulu when it was attacked at Pearl Harbor, and subsequent to that. The group includes his beautifully engraved wrap brooch expert pistol medal engraved with his name, rank, USS Arizona, and 1933 on the reverse, a USS Saratoga Pistol medal engraved with his name and 1936-37 on the back, campaign medals, CPO pin back badge, Good Conduct Medal ribbon with two stars, and his Continuous Service Certificate (CSC) Book. In it, he served on the USS Honolulu from 1938-42, USS Saratoga from 1934-37, USS Arizona from 1932-34, the USS Louisville at the end of 1930, and 1926-30 aboard the USS Maryland. Comes with copies of printouts detailing each ships exploits during the years he was aboard. The USS Saratoga ribbon has a lot of fraying damage but otherwise the group is in good condition.
