WWII Flying Tigers Pilots Aces Tex Hill, Ed Rector & Bob Scott Signed Book Plate. This book plate does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The signatures are original. The approximate size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Good overall condition. Brigadier General David Lee "Tex" Hill (July 13, 1915 – October 11, 2007) was a legendary American fighter pilot and a triple flying ace celebrated for his heroic exploits during World War II. He achieved fame as a prominent squadron leader with the iconic American Volunteer Group (AVG), famously known as the "Flying Tigers". Colonel Edward Franklin "Ed" Rector (September 28, 1916 – April 26, 2001) was a highly distinguished American fighter ace of World War II. He is most famously known as an original member of the legendary American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known as the "Flying Tigers, " who fought the Japanese in the skies over China and Burma before the United States officially entered the war. Brigadier General Robert Lee "Bob" Scott Jr. was a legendary World War II double ace who shot down 13 Japanese aircraft while flying with the American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known as the Flying Tigers.
