Description
First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt Signed letter (4 x 5.5 inches). Letter requesting money for work to be done in the Club House. This item does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The consignor was a long time collector of signed / autographed sports, political and entertainment items. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was an American political figure, diplomat, and activist who served as the First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945 during her husband Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency. As the longest-serving first lady in U.S. history, she revolutionized the role through her intense public engagement, traveling widely to survey living conditions and championing civil rights, labor rights, and women’s equality. Following her time in the White House, she became a global humanitarian force, serving as a delegate to the United Nations and chairing the commission that drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
