WWII Era SATIRE German Hitler Promotion Document, Envelope and Photo to American Colonel. The photo itself is a picture of Youngs. Note that this document does not bear the true signature of Adolf Hitler. It is a WWII period humorous piece presented to Colonel Youngs. Included is an original period photo of Colonel Youngs. Translated from German to English, it reads: In the name of the German people, I promote Colonel William P. Youngs to the General of the Aviators. I am executing this document in the expectation that the said person will conscientiously carry out his professional duties in accordance with his oath of service fulfilled and the trust justified – which is proven by this promotion. At the same time, I assure him of my special protection. The Leader Adolf Hitler. Colonel William Paul Youngs, served as a US Marine Corps Aviator in the 1930s, then a noted Pan-Am Yankee Clipper Pilot thereafter until WWII, when he entered the USAAF as a Colonel. During WWII, Youngs was attached to the 8th Air Force as a Chief Technical Inspector, and Special Projects Officer. He also coordinated with Russian counterparts to facilitate the famed Russian Shuttle Missions. Approximate size is 10 x 14 inches. Very nice condition for its age.
