WWI German Air Service Fighter Airplane Albatross D.Va No. 7161 / 17 picture and original fabric. Only 2 of this type of aircraft exists today. You will receive a piece of fabric from the Albatros DVa D.7161/17. During the early 1970s the Smithsonian Museum’s Albatros DVa D.7161/17 fabric was deteriorating as a result of age. The fabric was removed for the aircraft’s restoration and subsequently sold on posters to raise money for the museum. Many of the highest-scoring German aces achieved the majority of their victories while flying Albatros fighters. The approximate size is 19 x 24 inches in the frame. The piece itself is 11 x 16.25 inches. The original fabric is 2 x 2 inches (irregular shape). Nice framed condition for its age. The is clear tape on the reverse to keep this item in the frame. A nice piece of aviation history.
