Description
Group from Brigadier General William L. Kay, who served with the 1st Louisiana Infantry as a Sergeant on the Mexican Border, was with the 84th, 29th, and 17th Divisions in WWI, and then as a Colonel in WWII in Canada, Alaska, New Caledonia, and the Philippines with the 477th Quartermaster Regiment, and Assistant Quartermaster of the Sixth Army. In Korea, he served as Assistant Quartermaster of the Japanese Logistics Command. Promoted to Brig. Gen. in 1952, he was Commandant of the Quartermaster School. Group includes his hand engraved wrap brooch Legion of Merit, unengraved and unnumbered medals, patches, insignia, ribbon bars, etc. Also some copies of research about him. The display case does not come with this group.
