Description
WWII US Soldiers Medal group to Casimir F. Traks, 96th AAA Gun Battalion, who earned a Soldiers Medal for bravery at Kwajalein Atoll on 14 February 1944. When a palletized sled of high explosive shells caught fire in an ammo dump, the fire threatened to engulf the island full of troops. He and other troops battled the flames while 105mm rounds exploded around them, injuring some of the personnel. After a half hour, he helped extinguish the fire, saving many lives. Comes with an original 1971 reissued certificate, engraved boxed medal, campaign medals, DUI crests, and copies of research and the citation.
