Description
WWII group to Major General Charles E. Hoy of Illinois and later Florida. In WWII he commanded the 334th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division, fighting at the Battle of the Bulge where he earned a Silver Star and was wounded. He became a General after the war in the 1950s. Lot includes thick planchette numbered (57952) Silver Star, named wrap brooch Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, numbered Purple Heart (456081), campaign medals, French Legion of Honor (some enamel missing off back), and a 1985 issued Russian Badge and card. Also shirt sized Major General rank stars, mini sterling CIB, and some copied research. His other awards include the British Distinguished Service Order (not included). The display case does not come with this group.
