Description
WWII U.S. Navy Named KIA Paper / Photo / Letters Group. Named to Frank Trosper, Machinist Mate, who died aboard the Destroyer USS Amber Read (DD-526) by a Kamikaze on November 1, 1944 in the Philippines area. The lot includes a Western Union Telegram from Admiral Jacob’s mentioning Trosper is missing in action, several letters from Lt. Commander Atkinson mentioning Trosper still missing in action and his death, letter from James Forrestal confirming Trosper’s death, photo of Trosper, March 1944 dated letter from Trosper among a couple other items. Overall, good readable condition for their ages.
