Description
WWII Army Air Force KIA Purple Heart & Paper Group. Named group to Staff Sergeant Robert J. Grofenberg 306th BG, 367th BS, 8th Air Force who was Killed In Action on May 8, 1944 during a raid over Germany. Grofenberg was an Aerial Gunner who was aboard a B-17 Flying Fortress on a bombardment mission to Berlin, Germany. Grofenberg’s plane collided with another plane over Perleberg, Germany. You will receive a named and engraved Purple Heart, Crew Wing (Sterling), Good Conduct Ribbon, Western Union letters, new clipping, V-mail (returned to sender), letters regarding KIA, 16th Army Air Force 1942 Class Photos, Gold Star Citation, list of other crew members who were also Killed In Action, plus more. Overall, excellent condition for its age.
