Description
Original Third Reich nickel-silver dinner fork. Plain pattern with reverse on handle engraved ADOLF HITLER HAUS – FRANKFURT/MAIN. Also marked with other logos. The Adolf Hitler Haus was located in Frankfurt-Main. It originally opened as a luxury hotel in 1907, and was later purchased by the Nazi Party as a Frankfurt base, being formally inaugurated in September 1933 with a grand opening ceremony. The initial plans for the Nazi Aktion T4 euthanasia program were formulated in this historic building, a program that resulted in the involuntary euthanasia of almost 300,000 people in psychiatric hospitals across Germany, Austria, Poland and the modern-day Czech Republic, the vast majority of whom were considered to have mental or physical defects. It is likely that high ranking German officials, to possibly include Hitler himself used this fork.
