WWII US Named Army Air Corps MAT DIV Photo ID Badge Pin Back Button. Based on the Army Serial Number this piece is named to SSgt John J. Donoghue who served during WWII. From the internet: The Army Air Corps Materiel Division (Mat Div) was the branch of the U.S. Army Air Corps responsible for aviation research, development, procurement, supply, and maintenance. Formed in 1926 at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio, it laid the scientific and logistical groundwork that allowed the U.S. to rapidly scale aircraft production for World War II. Maker on the reverse: Whitehead and Hoag. Approximate diameter size is 1.75 inches. Very good condition for its age.
