Description
Letter from General Harry Schmidt to the recipient who requested a shoulder patch. Overall, very good condition. From the internet: General Harry Schmidt (1886–1968) was a legendary USMC commander. During World War II, he led the 4th Marine Division at Kwajalein and Saipan, and the 5th Amphibious Corps (VAC) at Tinian and Iwo Jima. After WWII, he oversaw the occupation of Japan and retired with three Distinguished Service Medals.
