Description
1950 Western Union messages from Dizzy Dean, Bob Feller, Abe Saperstein & Sid Luckman to Arch Ward. Lot as shown. Messages from Dizzy Dean (St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Browns), Bob Feller (Cleveland Indians) were both professional baseball pitchers, Basketball Coach Abe Saperstein (Harlem Globetrotters) and professional football player Quarterback / Safety Sid Luckman (Chicago Bears) to Arch Ward. Arch Ward was a highly influential American sports journalist and promoter who served as the sports editor for the Chicago Tribune from 1930 until his death in 1955. He is best known for creating several major athletic traditions, most notably Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game. These items do not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The consignor was a long time collector of signed / autographed sports, political and entertainment items. Overall, good readable condition.
