Overall, good used condition for their age. Note these are not mint and there may be pieces missing or broken due to their age and use. Please use all photos to determine the actual condition. Information found on the internet: Comet Metal Production Company, Inc. tried to interest the US government in using their models for identification purposes, but it was only after WWII started that Comet was actually commissioned by the US military to manufacture identification models of ships, airplanes and military road vehicles. The military vehicles were cast to U. S. Government order at 1 inch = 9 feet, thus 1/108. In 1945 Comet / Authenticast initially offered over 50 tanks and other military vehicle models from the US, Britain, Russia, Germany and Japan to the public, but as time passed more models were developed. Authenticast miniatures are exact replicas of the fighting tanks used during WWII. All Authenticast tank models feature revolving gun turrets; half-tracks and armored car models have wheels that actually turn. All armament, tracks, bogies, suspensions, gears, gas tanks, hatches, air vents, and even rivet heads are on different models. These are the some official scale models precision-built for use by our armed forces in recognition and pre-combat training. Made in two scales: Student (1 inch to 108 inches), and Teacher (1 inch to 36 inches). Each part individually cast and hand assembled. Sprayed regulation olive drab or dark grey, each tank model should be permanently identified on the bottom of the model.
