Description
The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker is an American military aerial refueling tanker. This model aircraft is named and engraved to Colonel Charles D. Youree, Jr., Commander 456th Bomb Wing March 1972-April 1973. 903rd AREFS, 9th AREFS. Information found on the internet: Charles Youree graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1952. He retired in 1977 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General. During the time for which he was given this award in March 1972-April 1973, General Youree was commander of the Strategic Air Command’s 456th Bombardment Wing at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., and was responsible for ensuring the combat readiness of both B-52 and KC-135 aircraft and assigned aircrews. Approximate size is 11 x 10.5 x 7 inches. Good overall condition for its age.
