Wolfgang Späte (8 September 1911-30 April 1997) was a German Luftwaffe fighter pilot during WWII. He was a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. Spate is credited with 99 air victories. He was also the military officer in charge of the development of the Me-163 Komet, the world’s first rocket fighter. Hans-Joachim Hajo Herrmann (1 August 1913-5 November 2010) was a Luftwaffe bomber pilot and later after the end of World War II, focusing his activities as a lawyer on civil and criminal law. In WWII, he was a high ranking and influential member of the Luftwaffe. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. The signatures on these book plates are original. The approximate size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Good overall condition.
