Description
Army Air Forces Corporal Henry L. Fowler was attached to the 763rd Bomber Squadron, 460th Bomber Group, Heavy, 15th Air Force during WWII. Fowler was on the crew of the B-24G #42-78301 when they were hit during a mission over Italy. Fowler and the crew went Missing In Action which resulted in their deaths on August 2, 1944. You will receive the following: Purple Heart Certificate and Grateful Memory KIA Citation Document. From a news clipping found on the internet: Sergeant Henry Fowler is reported as missing in action over Italy since August 2. The advice was received by his wife at Seligman, Arizona and then reported to his sisters, Mrs. Louise Larsen and Mrs. Grace Woods at Myton. Henry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fowler, former Myton residents now living at Ogden. He was born August 16, 1922 at Myton and attended school here and at Roosevelt. He entered the service on July 16, 1940 and received training in the Army Air Force, graduating in February 1944, from Harlingen Army Air Feild, aerial gunnery school of AAF Training Command as a qualified sharp-shooter of the sky. He sailed in late June for the European theater of war to serve as a bombardier. We do not have his awarded Purple Heart. Overall, good condition for its age. These pieces will be shipped rolled in a mailing tube.
