Description
Joseph (Josef) Burschgens (1917-?). He was a German Air Ace scoring his 10 victories in the Battle of Britain. He was captured in 1940 and spent the rest of the war as a POW in Canada. After the war he would return to Canada with his family, eventually living there where he changed his first name from Josef to Joseph. Werner Ewald (23 October 1914-5 October 1993) was a highly decorated Major in the Fallschirmjager during WWII and an Oberst in the Bundeswehr. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. He was captured by American troops following the surrender of the garrison at Brest, he was held until 1946. In 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr and served until retirement in 1973. These signed photos are copies of actual period photos. The signatures are original. The approximate sizes are 8 x 10 inches. These photos are in nice condition.
