Description
Herbert Emil Schultze (24 July 1909-3 June 1987), was a German submarine commander during WWII. He commanded the U-48 for eight patrols during the early part of the war, sinking 169,709 gross register tons (GRT) of shipping. Schultze was a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves of Nazi Germany. The approximate size is 8 x 10 inches. This signed photo is a copy of an actual period photo. The signature is original. Good overall condition.
