Description
Pennsylvanias Distinguished Guests at Her Headquarters, Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg, June 29th-July 6th, 1913. Paper Photos. The 1913 Gettysburg reunion was a Gettysburg Battlefield encampment of American Civil War veterans for the Battle of Gettysburgs 50th anniversary. The June 29–July 4 gathering of 53,407 veterans (~8,750 Confederate) was the largest ever Civil War veteran reunion. All honorably discharged veterans in the Grand Army of the Republic and the United Confederate Veterans were invited, and veterans from 46 of the 48 states attended, all but Nevada and Wyoming. Named guests at the bottom. Approximate size is 9.25 x 21.75 inches and 9.25 x 33.5 inches. Good condition with some stains.
