Description
WWII USN Navy Seabees Paper, Patches, Album & Dog Tag Group. Group named to William D. Findley who was attached to the 77th Naval Construction Battalion. History of 77th NCB in WWII: The 77th NCB arrived on 25 September 1943, in the midst of a Japanese bombing attack. During this attack the Seabees manned guns and took over first-aid and evacuation work. In spite of casualties and severe losses of vital equipment, the Seabees immediately set to work clearing jungle, repairing roads and bridges, and constructing gun emplacements and LST landing facilities. Included in this group are a scrapbook, dog tags, photos / negatives, patches, paper and more. Nice condition for its age. The display case does not come with this group.
