1969 Cuban Pilot Defector Homestead AFB Photo Group. You will receive 8 photos that were taken at Homestead Air Force Base of a Cuban defector and pilot Eduardo Guerra, Jimenez. In 1969 Guerra flew a Sovietâ€built jet from Cuba to the United States. His flight was from Cienfuegos Air Base in Santa Clara, Cuba, to Homestead Air Base in Florida, in a MIGâ€17 jet on October, 1969. He landed just yards away from Air Force One, which was being refueled to take President Nixon back to Washington from his Key Biscayne home. These original photos are of the plane Guerra flew and the equipment he wore when he arrived at the Homestead Air Force Base. Good condition for the age.
