World War II hardback, "An Historical and Pictorial Record of The 87th Infantry Division in World War II, 1942-1945," 1946 publishing date in rear and appears to be a first edition. Hard to find history of the 87th Infantry Division in World War II, known as the Golden Acorn Division, with major battles and campaigns in the European theater against Germany in World War II. Includes history and a very large number of photos related to military action of the Division in World War II. A massive collection of 87th Division Regimental histories, including the 345th, 346th, 347th Infantry Regiments, 334th, 335th, 336th, and 912 Field Artillery Battalions, numerous other attached regiments. Contents include broad WWI and WWII divisional histories, detailed regimental narratives, hundreds of photographs, illustrations and maps, captioned portraits of all included members, rosters, awards and decorations pages, statistical data, a large fold-out map at center, etc. Blue cloth hardback with gilt decorations and lettering on front, book has about 900 pages and numbered in sections only. Size is 9 x 12 inches and in very good condition with minimal wear.
