Description
Small lot belonging to Col. John J. Carew of Mass. In WWI he was in the 5th Infantry Division, and in 1942 commanded the 114th Engineers at New Guinea earning a Distinguished Service Cross and Silver Star. This lot includes a real photo postcard from his WWI unit, his WWI France book, and a small newspaper from the ship he sailed to the Pacific on in 1942. It shows some wear from age.
