1946 Navy USS Panamint Bikini Atoll Atomic Bombs Photos and Post Card. You will received the following items. 2 photos on heavy card stock. Sizes are 15.25 x 19.5 inches. The postcard mentions to his friend his reactions to both the Atomic Bomb blasts while aboard the USS Panamint. On 1 July 1946 the USS Panamint covered Joint Army-Navy Task Force I’s Operation Crossroads, the atomic bomb test at Bikini, where she served as floating headquarters for congressional, scientific, and U.N. observers. The photos are in good condition. The postcard has what appears to be water stains. Nice group from a person who was there to witness the blast.
