WWII US Army Air Force Killed 1st Lt. Nobby Barr Bob Ankrum Bomber Pilot Group. Ankrum was attached to the 84th Bomb Squadron / 47th Bomb Group. Died September 19th 1944, France. Nobby Ankrum was born on November 4th 1917 in Braxton County, West Virgina from Richard Ankrum and Bertha Payton Ankrum. 1st Lt Ankrum was killed while piloting a A-20J 43-9653 "Havoc" Bomber on September 19th 1944, France. Ankrum had 63 Missions in Italy and Southern France. He was buried in the American Cemetery Luynee, France. In the records jackets you will receive the following plus more.
