Description
Large Korean War Airborne – Vietnam Special Forces group to Major Paul V. Dougherty of Pennsylvania. In the Korean War, he served with Co. E. 187th Airborne Infantry and then did two tours in Vietnam. One was with MAC-V as an advisor to Team #70, and the second tour was with the 1st Special Forces. He would earn a Bronze Star for Heroism in 1965 while being wounded during the action. Includes his named Purple Heart, Commendation Medal, Bronze Star, campaign medals, badges, patches, medal boxes, etc. Also original certificates for the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, NCO Academy Fort Bragg unit photo, Infantry School diplomas, enlisted discharges, and numerous copies of his award citations, records, and unit photos. It should be noted that some of the medals and insignia appear to be modern, indication that they were likely added by a previous collector for display purposes. The display case does not come with this group.
