Description
WWII US 8th Army Air Force medal group to Technical Sergeant Thomas W. Kirkwood Jr. of Lompoc, CA. He was a radio operator in the 487th Bomb Group, 839th Bomb Squadron. The group includes his privately engraved Air Medal, AAF and 8th AAF patches attached to the top of the medal case (hinge broken so it lays flat), boxed Army of Occupation Medal, boxed WWII Victory Medal, and a copy of his Air Medal award card. The top of the Air Medal case has a square stuck to it as well as a partial return address label.
