Szczesny (Chesney) was a Storekeeper aboard the USS LST 519. The group includes: 45 plus letters (September 1949-February 1953) home to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most letters are typed with stamped envelopes. Letterhead on stationary mostly LST 519, a few are US Navy and USS Tutuila ARG-4. Chesney served in Norfolk, Washington, Greenland, the Arctic and Cuba, (2) large ship pictures, Postcard photo in Cuba, Five ID Cards (Royal Order of the Blue Nose 1951and Northern Domain of the Polar Bear 1951, Navy Vet ID, Registration Draft: Szczensy and Chesney (2), First Class Petty Officer Stores Shoulder Patch, Ship Printed: A Merry Christmas To All Hands From USS LST 519 with Menu for Christmas Dinner, Ship Printed: Independence Day July 4th 1951 Happy 175th Anniversary USS LST 519 Holiday Dinner Menu that has Eskimos and Igloo on the front, Ships Roster and Emails.
