The AVG was organized in July 1941 at Rangoon, Burma as a unit of the Chinese Air Force, flying combat missions from Burma and China from December 22, 1941 until mid-July 1942, when it was transferred to the 23rd Fighter Group. AVGs who served to disbandment, served the two extra weeks, or accepted induction in China to the CNAC were given an honorable discharge from the Chinese Air Force. Approximate size is 16 x 11.5 inches. The edges have wear. Most likely from age and handling from the Flying Tigers who signed this piece. Also, on the reverse it appears some signatures bled to the back. Still a nice piece to frame and display.
