Günther Rall, (March 10, 1918-October 4, 2009), German WWII combat pilot, the third highest scoring fighter ace in history. He flew more than 600 combat missions, scored 275 victories (mostly against Soviet aircraft), and was shot down eight times. He was one of the founders of Germanys postwar Air Force serving as the Luftwaffes chief of air staff (1970–74) and military attache to NATO (1974–75). Adolf Josef Ferdinand Galland (19 March 1912-9 February 1996) was a German Luftwaffe general and flying ace who served throughout WWII in Europe. He flew 705 combat missions, and fought on the Western Front and in the Defense of the Reich. On four occasions, he survived being shot down, and he was credited with 104 aerial victories, all of them against the Western Allies. Walter Krupinski (11 November 1920-7 October 2000) was a German Luftewaffe fighter ace in WWII and a senior West German Air Force officer during the Cold War. He was one of the highest scoring pilots in the war, credited with 197 victories in 1,100 sorties. He was called by his fellow pilots Graf Punski (Count Punski) due to his Prussian origins. Krupinski was one of the first to fly the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in combat as a member of Jagdverband 44 (JV 44—44th Fighter Detachment) led by Adolf Galland. The signatures on this book plate are original. The approximate size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Good overall condition.
