Description
James Harold Doolittle (December 14, 1896 – September 27, 1993) was an American military general and aviation pioneer who received the Medal of Honor for his daring raid on Japan during WWII, known as the Doolittle Raid in his honor. He made early coast-to-coast flights, record-breaking speed flights, won many flying races, and helped develop and flight-test instrument flying. Richard Eugene Cole (September 7, 1915 – April 9, 2019) was a USAF Colonel. During World War II, he was one of the airmen who took part in the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo Japan, on April 18, 1942. He served as the co-pilot to Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy Doolittle in the lead airplane of the raid by sixteen B-25 bombers, which for the first time took off from an aircraft carrier on a bombing mission. Hank Potter (September 22, 1918 – May 27, 2002) served as General Jimmy Doolittle’s B25 No.1 navigator. The signatures on this book plate are original. The approximate size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Good overall condition.
