Description
WWII 1942 US Army Glider Pilots Photo. In this photo is Robert Cardenas who later became a Brigadier General. Initially he helped to establish the Glider School at Twentynine Palms, California. Cardenas flying days included being shot down and was the command pilot who launched Captain Chuck Yeager in the Bell X-1 supersonic experimental aircraft. Approximate size is 7 x 9 inches. The photo is in good condition. The information paper is detached from the photo.
