Description
WWII New York Conspicuous Service Cross Medal and case. Attributed to Top Turret Gunner Sgt. John Bilos, Jr. Bilos was attached to the 676th Bombardment Squadron, 444th Bomb Group, 20th Air Force. Bilos flew aboard the Urgin Virgin which had 7 Bombing Missions, 4 Hump Missions, 1 Photo Mission and 2 Mining Missions. During his time aboard the Urgin Virgin the crew shot down (3) Japanese planes. Bilos earned a Distinguished Flying Cross with (3) Oak Leaf Clusters. Numbered medal 11667. Marked A.E. & Co and Sterling. Overall, good condition for its age.
