Description
George E. Bostwick served with the 63rd FS of the famous 56th FG, US 8th Air Force. Bostwick was rapidly promoted from 1st Lt thru Major during his tour with the 56th. His tally of 8 confirmed kills included an Me 262 jet while flying his P47M Ugly Duckling. He became a career officer after the war retiring as a full colonel in the USAF in the 1960s. In WWII he was credited with destroying 8 enemy aircraft in aerial combat plus 2 damaged and 6 destroyed on the ground. This signed photo is a copy of an actual period photo. The signature is original. Good overall condition.
