Lot 347:
Description
Marshal Petain speech to the peasants of France Pau on April 20, 1941. During the year 1941, the question of supplies appeared as the main source of grievance and was undoubtedly the main factor in the process of detachment from the opinion of the Marshal’s regime. By July 1941, the honeymoon was over. The complaints were more numerous, especially in terms of supplies, and the Marshal’s prestige was no longer enough to get the rutabagas through. Thus the reason why Marshall Pertain created this propaganda. Text of the speech addressed to the peasants included that Petain wanted to make peasants one of the bases of his regime. Himself from the rural world, symbol of the victory of Verdun during the First World War (where many peasants lost their lives to defend the fatherland), he addressed many speeches to the peasant world. This is one of those speeches. Approximate size is 6 x 8 inches. Good condition for its age.
