Description
WWI American propaganda poster featuring a color illustration of a wounded yet smiling wounded soldier on the battlefield. His uniform sleeves are tattered, and he is bloodied and bandaged; he wears a helmet and carries several German helmets as trophies. In his hands, in addition to his rifle, trench warfare is evident by the barbed wire fence and the ruins of a building which can be seen in the background. The poster reads: And they thought we couldn’t FIGHT. VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN. Original artist was Vic Forsythe. Published by Ketterlinus. Phila. The approximate size is 20 x 30 inches. The condition is good for its age with the top right side a little rough. When shipped, this poster will be delivered rolled.
