200th Field Artillery Battalion Unit History Book. 15 pages plus center map. Named to ‘Herbert L. Axe’. Also included is a original list plus (2) copies that list the ‘Route of Travel since the Battery left States’, Commendation Letter from Courtney H. Hodges, Commanding General and C. R. Huebner, Commanding General, and a news item titled, ‘Artillery Men of Region Win Highest Praise’, picture of General Eisenhower and a copy of a German memoriam to F.D. Roosevelt. This history was printed by Planografia, Pilsen, Czechoslovakia c.1945. The initial portion of the history is a narrative of the Battalion from its initial landing in Normandy on June 8 (D-Day +2), across France and Luxembourg, and entering Germany on December 8, 1945. The final portion of the history is a listing of Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart recipients. Inside the back cover is a memorial to the fallen members of the 200th Field Artillery Battalion.
