Description
WWII – 70s Medal group of US Army Major General Robert R. Linvill. In WWII he was a Battalion Commander in the 6th Armored Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division to include Operation Torch in North Africa, through to Italy. Post war, he commanded US Forces Dominican Republic, was Deputy Commanding General of the XVIII Airborne Corps, CG of the 24th Infantry Division, and then Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division from 1970-1971. Group includes his 1960’s -70’s issued WWII Silver Star with his rank on it, US and foreign medals, medal boxes as shown, and a comprehensive packet of research to include many copies of his award citations. Good condition overall. The photo portrait of him is digital only; No hard copy included.
